- The director doesn't remember it's existence as he believes that he either doesn't remember or just remembering things wrong.
- According to the storyboards and Hans Bacher, there was planned to be a "dream sequence", Balto had a dream on his search for sled dog team, but the idea was dropped. The dream contained an owl, a fox, a goose, a polar bear and a grizzly bear, a black and white wolves or foxes, a reindeer and various forest landscapes.
