The Cunning Trickster is a female fox that Balto finds caught in a trap in Balto II: Wolf Quest. She helps set Balto on the right path to find Aleu. She is one of the Totem animals.

The Cunning Trickster is a red fox with rusty orange fur, white underbelly and tail tip, and black ears and legs. She also has violet coloring over her eyes, which resembles eyeshadow.

Balto 2: Wolf Quest[]
While looking for his daughter, Balto happens across a fox who claims to be trapped by a rope that she can easily slip her dainty paw from. As it turns out, she only wanted the attention of a large, strong hunk like Balto. After learning that Balto has a daughter, however, she instead just pushes Balto into the river below by giving him a push.

- She was voiced by the late Mary Kay Bergman which is her final voice role due to the film being released three years after she died.
- According to Dev Ross, the writer of the sequel, the Fox spirit originally was supposed to be an arctic fox, but since the story already had the white animal character (Aniu), the Fox spirit was changed into a red fox.
- When Aleu ran away into wilderness after the revelation about being part wolf, the Fox spirit can be noticed high on a branch of a tree, watching on the running Aleu in the forest.
