The Old One spoke the truth about Balto, we must go!
— The red and white wolf to his clanmates

The red and white wolf is a wolf who appeared in the final act of Balto II: Wolf Quest. He is a member of Aleu's clan. He was voiced by both Rob Paulsen and Maurice Lamarche.

Personality[]

The red and white wolf seems to care very much about Nava and the well being of his clan, reprimanding Niju when he spoke out against Nava. He was the first wolf (besides Nava) to trust Balto and Aleu, encouraging the clan to cross the Icebridge.

Appearance[]

He has red fur, a white underbelly, and dull green eyes.

Biography[]

Balto II: Wolf Quest[]

The red and white wolf first appeared when Nava called a clan meeting to discuss the lack of caribou and Balto and Aleu's presence. When Niju insists that Nava has lost his ability to lead, the red and white wolf asks him why he would say such a thing. Later he is seen during The Grand Design scene, when Niju was trying to convince the clan to stay.
The next morning, the Icebridge had completely formed. When Balto realises that the clan had to choose right then between leaving or staying, the red and white wolf insists that Nava and Balto were right all along and is the first to follow them. When Balto told the clan to partner up, is it likely he chose the dark brown wolf.

Relationships[]

(If certain characters aren't here, that meant that they haven't had any thoughts about them nor interacted with them. Feel free to summarize their perspective. (Fanfictions NOT included))

Nava

The red and white wolf appears to hold Nava in high regard, getting angry at Niju when he implied he was no longer a good leader.

Niju

The red and white wolf does not seem to have a positive relationship with Niju, as he did not agree with Niju's ambition to become leader/usurp Nava.

Balto

The red and white wolf was the first wolf to fully trust Balto's plan to cross the Icebridge.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike popular belief, the red and white wolf is not named Taku or Vike; he has no confirmed name.
    • The Balto fandom tends to believe that he loves Aleu, however, both characters never interacted and it is not official either!
  • It is not likely he ever joined Niju's rebellion, considering his personality and the animation quality of the movie; his design was one of the most common designs the animators defaulted to in some scenes featuring Niju's rebellion.
